Attendo risposta da quelli di SMF.
Ho trovato una pagina su transifex non ufficiale, ma non è aggiornata a SMF attuale (è una pagina volontaria di un utente che traduce in ceco).
Transifex sarebbe eccellente come strumento per la revisione e traduzione online di massa.
Ma quelli di SMF sembrano usare metodi loro.
Appena mi daranno direttive, ci dirigeremo verso una traduzione umanamente accettabile, e per tutti.

I thought *i* did something wrong, downloading smf 2.0.10 from a wrong source, and thus getting a wrong and half assed translation.
So i went ahead and redownloaded italian utf8 from this link

This is insanity. Im having a lil cozy forum with few of my fellas, we talk about books, ebooks and so on.
They noticed that few parts of the forum looked a little bit fuzzy, so i started to dig into the lang files.
My heart cramped and my eyes started to shed tears of blood when i reached line 19 of /Themes/default/languages/Errors.italian-utf8.php:
"$txt['password_invalid_character'] = 'Hai stato utilizzato un carattere non valido nella password.';"
"Hai stato" sounds a lot like - how i can render this mind blogging creepyness in english - kinda like "You is being used a wrong character"
Please note. "You have been using" *cannot* be literally translated as "Hai stato utilizzato" BUT it should have been at least "Si è utilizzato" (correct use of the verb "to be" according to grammar) or, by insisting of the usage of the verb to have, it could have been "Avete utilizzato" (again if you double check on google translate, this is something that leads to a question form in the result, but please, do trust an italian mother tongue.
I do fight for fun daily suggesting the right things to Google Translate.
Therefore i request to enter in the translation staff to fix this ongoing, unneeded smf grammar slaughter.
Change of verb times in the middle of a sentence, unconsistent and mixed up translation of topic and post, unneeded use of english terms which do have a translation, strings just left alone sitting there untranslated.
If you want to know how i feel within my deepest depths, just consider how you feel reading this crappy, skewed twisted up english.
Hoping to receive an answer soon, please stop this horror

Se mi passate il php, faccio una macro in Excel che esporti in una colonna tutti i testi in lingua e poi, una volta compilata una colonna aggiuntiva con la traduzione, carichi i nuovi testi nel php.
Se volete le traduzioni le faccio io; se sono tante chiedo solo un po' di pazienza.

Buone nuove. Il tizio su Transifex è stato gentilissimo.
Ha prontamente caricato i file della traduzione aggiornati.
Ci sono delle piccole gabule comunque: Transifex lavora benicchio con php, ma nello specifico, ha dei problemi con la delimitazione delle stringhe negli array.
Quindi gli apici e il punto e virgola finale, almeno al momento, vanno riportati a mano nelle traduzioni dove presentino nella stringa da tradurre, e se come stringa vedete "array" seguito da un vuoto, passate oltre.
Le stringhe che in inglese non sono racchiuse tra apici e non presentano il punto e virgola finale non necessitano di questi accorgimenti.
Chi avesse voglia di cimentarsi, può andare a questo indirizzo, aggiungersi al team di traduzione, e giocare con l'italiano.
Mi raccomando: per chi usa gli apici ('apostrofi) nelle stringhe *anteponete una barra* (quella sopra al 7 /)
